Toyota NA Production Levels Normalize

To say 2011 has been a tough year for Toyota would be a huge understatement. But, Toyota has found a way to prevail despite adversity. Just six months after Japan was destroyed by a back-to-back earthquake and tsunami, they're seeing a big break in the clouds. North American production levels have returned to normal levels, approximately three months before official forecasts.
The catalyst, of course, was the earlier-than-expected return to normal production levels in Japan. With the necessary Toyota parts in stock, Toyota's North American plants were able to resume manufacturing Toyota models at pre-disaster pace. This includes the Camry, RAV4, and Tacoma, as well as nine other models, which together comprise 70 percent of all Toyota U.S. sales.
Of course, Toyota still has a little bit of catching up to do. Namely, they must replenish dwindling inventory at dealers across the country. To expedite the process, they're employing overtime and Saturday work hours. An official timeframe of when all inventory levels will be back up to par has not been announced. Given the efficiency with which Toyota has returned to normal production levels, we don't expect it will take long.
