Toyota to Sponsor Englishtown NHRA Full Throttle Event

"Vroom, vroom" may not be the official slogan for Japanese automaker Toyota, but maybe it should be. Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A recently lengthened its participation in NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing, by becoming the title-rights sponsor of the Englishtown event held May 31-June 3, the Toyota NHRA SuperNationals.

Toyota has been involved with NHRA since 2002, when it revealed its Celica-bodied Funny Car, but its first win wasn't until two years later, in 2004. The program and Toyota's involvement has grown since then and Toyota-sponsored cars have earned many victories and honors, including NHRA Top Fuel Full Throttle word championships. Overall, Toyota sponsors three Top Fuel teams and three Funny Car teams. More advertising opportunities will be available to Toyota as a sponsor of the racing event.

Tom Compton, President of NHRA, states of the new union: "Toyota's increasing involvement in NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing is a clear indicator of the return on investment at both the league and team level. Toyota has a proven track record around sponsorship activation, and to have their involvement as an event-rights sponsor of one of the most prestigious stops on the NHRA Full Throttle Series is very exciting."1

Toyota certainly has its hands in a cornucopia of projects, and this one might be one of the most impressive, due to the fact that Toyota has been so successful in its efforts. To learn more about news and events for the brand, stay tuned here with Mark Miller Toyota Downtown, Salt Lake City.
