Toyota Gives Back for Holidays

You won't find a single Grinch at Toyota this holiday season. The Japanese automaker is giving back in a big way, and they've even recruited some extra help to do so!

More specifically, Toyota turned to automotive auctioning companies ADESA and Norwalk Auction Venues for a little help in raising funds for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. From November 25th to December 19th, whenever a Toyota vehicle sold at either a ADESA or Norwalk Auction event, Toyota would make a $50 donation to the local Boys & Girls Club branch where the vehicle sold. It seems…

Toyota Fans Share on The Camry Effect

There are people who love their car, then there are Camry owners. Toyota knows that their mid-size sedan carries more driver loyalty than almost any other vehicle on the road today, which is they've created a new website that allows visitors to share their love for the Camry, no matter what their level of interaction with it.

That's right, the Camry Effect isn't just a website for owners. Rather it's open to the general public. The site would be a bit self-serving if it was only open to people who own a Camry, right?. The point…

Daytona 500 Toyota Camry Pace Car

At the 2011 SEMA Show, Toyota unveiled a history-making variant of the 2012 Camry SE. Packing a 268-horsepower V6 engine under the hood, the 2012 Camry Daytona 500 Pace Car is currently set to be the first-ever non-American-made vehicle to maintain order on the track at the "Great American Race."

Why Toyota and the Camry? Aside from the Japanese automaker's unmatched success in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, NASCAR Spring Cup Series, and NASCAR Nationwide Series, the Camry has actually been featured as the official pace car at several races already. Tracks that have featured the Camry as…

Toyota Ethanol Production Breakthrough

Toyota has already brought us many hybrid variants of the Toyota Prius, available at Mark Miller Toyota Downtown in Salt Lake City, Utah; but they are only starting with electric. They want to be remembered for more advancements in fuel consumption.

The auto maker is looking into a better ethanol. New yeast being developed that will more efficiently ferments xylose, sugar produced when plant fibers break down, basically creating a super fuel.

This newly developed yeast produces the highest ethanol fermentation level known to human kind, and is capable of improving bio-fuel quality while also reducing production costs. Plans to…

Toyota NA Production Levels Normalize

To say 2011 has been a tough year for Toyota would be a huge understatement. But, Toyota has found a way to prevail despite adversity. Just six months after Japan was destroyed by a back-to-back earthquake and tsunami, they're seeing a big break in the clouds. North American production levels have returned to normal levels, approximately three months before official forecasts.

The catalyst, of course, was the earlier-than-expected return to normal production levels in Japan.  With the necessary Toyota parts in stock, Toyota's North American plants were able to resume manufacturing Toyota models at pre-disaster pace. This includes…

Toyota Yaris After Youth Market

With a low base price and plenty of miles per gallon, the Japanese auto maker is successful at  targeting their 2012 Toyota Yaris to the youth market. Every student needs a car to get to and from those college courses, or for picking up friends. If you live in a dorm and don't need a vehicle just yet, you certainly will once graduation is over, and it's time to commute daily.

The four-cylinder, entry-level vehicle comes with a large array of entertainment options. These, along with its price ranging from $14,115 to $17,200, are being touted…

Toyota Yaris Gets Additional Standard Equipment

"Break the Mold. Not the Bank"1 That's the tagline for the 2011 Toyota Yaris. We couldn't say it better ourselves. Made for minimalists with zero compromise in safety, the peppy-looking Yaris is where distinction meets practicality.

For the 2012 model year, the Toyota Yaris will get a little less minimal and a lot more comfortable. And, we're not talking about the seats. In literal terms, the subcompact, is already quite comfy. Rather, we're talking about the addition of a grand worth of standard equipment.

While Toyota is expected to release details on exactly what the…

Toyota Accident-Avoidance Technology

There isn't a Toyota driver in the Salt Lake City area who doesn't want to steer clear of accidents. At best, they're a headache. At worst, they result in serious accidents. Unfortunately, there isn't often time enough for drivers to stop short or determine which way to turn. It's times like these when we all wish our cars, SUVs, CUVs, and trucks could take care of it for us.

You'll be happy to know: Toyota is working on it! At a recent media event, the Japanese automaker revealed a leading-edge accidence-avoidance technology. Designed with…

Five Toyota Vehicles for US Charities

Toyota has joined forces with the Today Show's "Lend a Hand" series for two years. Previously, the Japanese automaker has participated in one day of the weeklong series, donating one Toyota Sienna, each year. This year, amid supply shortages, Toyota has given one new model to five different charities across the country.

Speaking on the automaker's philanthropic effort, Michael Rouse, VP Philanthropy, Toyota, said, "Toyota is thrilled to support Today Show's 'Lend a Hand' series in recognizing the important work of local charities. In addition, to participating in the 'Lend a Hand' series, Toyota is also currently…

Toyota Camry Number One American-Made Car

We think July 4 is the perfect time to tell you the most American car around isn't made by the Blue Oval. It's made by the Silver Wings either. It's made by Toyota. Surprise!

How can a Japanese car rank first on Cars.com's American-Made Index? The answer isn't exactly visible to the naked eye.

While Toyota is headquartered in Japan, the Camry is made in the USA, as are most of the parts used in the manufacturing process . It's also one of the most popular cars sold in America.

The 2011 Toyota Camry…
