Halloween Traffic Safety Tips for Parents

While all the kids in Salt Lake City are excitedly planning what they are going to be for Halloween this year, we here at Mark Miller Toyota want to remind kids to be safe!

Halloween brings lots of fun and candy, but unfortunately it also brings a risk for accidents according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. We want to remind parents of some important safety tips to keep your kids from getting hurt this Halloween:

  • Go over traffic safety rules with your kids. Remind them to stop, look, and listen for cars before crossing the street.
  • Watch over younger children carefully. They may be too excited about costumes and candy to remember safety.
  • Light your kids up. Apply reflective tape to their costumes, and give them flashlights or fun glow sticks to carry. This will help motorists to see your kids better.
  • Avoid face masks. They can block a kid's vision.

Have a Happy Halloween!
